InfraTracker tracks government investment in infrastructure in G20 economies
InfraTracker is the first annual tracker of public investment in infrastructure for the G20. It helps governments shape programs and budgets that achieve the best outcomes by allowing them to research and compare approaches to infrastructure spending and the outcomes being targeted by other governments.
InfraTracker presents annual estimates of G20 governments’ planned investment in infrastructure and the transformative outcomes that can be achieved through this investment to improve sustainability, inclusivity, and resilience while enhancing economic development.
Drawing primarily from central government budgets, InfraTracker presents 2022 estimates of G20 central governments’ investments in infrastructure and G20 central governments’ transfers to other levels of government for investment in infrastructure. These estimates can be filtered and viewed in various combinations by:
- Country
- Infrastructure sector and subsector
- Targeted outcome.
By aggregating the latest budgeted government investment in infrastructure, the InfraTracker illuminates how governments are responding to recent market conditions and how infrastructure investment is being used to tackle international and national challenges like climate change and social inequality.
This information contributes to filling a critical gap in data on infrastructure investment. These data are valuable for governments and other decisionmakers as they leverage infrastructure’s transformative potential to drive economies toward an environmentally sustainable, inclusive, resilient, and digitally-enabled future.
